Alexander Yakovlev was born in the Karelian town of Lahdenpokhya, Russia. Alexander Yakovlev's style is usually characterized as abstract calligraphy. Creativity of the author is deeply intuitive. The works are created with a perfected skill, when the hand leads the brush, writing out the alphabet, individual words or quotes from Joseph Brodsky's poetry. The artist's works were published in the book "Calligraphy for All", Leonid Pronenko. Yakovlev's works are also represented in private and corporate collections in Russia and abroad.
